MACHINES’ AUDITION
May 10 — June 28, 2014
Kunsthalle Lissabon, Lisbon, Portugal
Solo exhibition
Curated by Luís Silva and João Mourão
Here, object is a broad designation for things as distinct as a plant, a rope, a computer component, a shoe, which, regardless of their power of meaning, only exist in the relationship they establish with each other. (…) Cosmologies, but one could also think of families of things: they have affinities between them, intense and very complex relationships, as in all families. And as in all families, it is not possible to determine with complete precision the way in which each singular element contributes to the formation of that community: it may be the physiognomic similarities, the affinities of blood, of affection, of ideas. But each element that comes together - each new birth or marriage - has consequences for the whole.
